Ben's graduation through Christmas Eve

Ben's graduation from Boise State University was on December 19th. On Wednesday Trav, Anna, and Paige took me to Spokane so I could stay at my mom's for our 6:15am flight. The snow began to fall on our way to Spokane and by the time Trav was going to drop me off, 4 hours later, there was so much snow and the roads were so bad it took us 2 hours to get from the Valley Mall to my mom's house. This is normally a 25-30 minute trip!

At 4a.m. when we left for our (normally 25 minute drive to the airport), the snow was up to my knees! Luckily, my mom's house is so, so close to Division street (Spokane's major N/S road) and it only had about 4 inches of fresh snow! Katie had to walk from her house to the car, about 200 yards -good thing that girl has snow pants! We arrived at the airport. We got STARBUCKS. We got on our plane. We read Sky Mall. The pilot announced we could get off the plane and could get back on when the runway had enough traction for our plane to take off. We got off the plane. We got margaritas and Irish Coffee. Our flight was cancelled. We got on the one at 4:30.Katie and I are still excited, we are flying at 4:30 now!

We picked up our luggage. We waited to re-check in.
Katie and I got interviewed by Lee Stohl from krem.com. We never saw our interview :(
We decided to eat at The Ramada. We returned to the airport. We went back through security. Our flight got cancelled. We were sad because we didn't get to cheer Ben on at his graduation! We are so proud of Benny!

GOOD JOB BENNY BUNNY!

This is Katie's car and it wasn't done snowing.

Anna and Paige in their emergency pajamas!

On the way home we stopped at REI and bought snowshoes.
On Christmas Eve we were going to have dinner with a few friends before we went to the Christmas Eve service. That was cancelled because of sick kiddo-s. But, we didn't even make it to church because of the crazy amount of snow we got. So, we stayed home, ate clam chowder-adults and potato soup-girls. We lit the Advent Wreath and read the Christmas story.

Here is Anna spreading peanut butter on Santa's sandwich. She isn't happy with the consistency of the spreading... "it's too thick and it needs to move more"
