Do you ever have a weekend you know you'll never forget? We had one last weekend. Our brother-in-law's sister got married in Wenatchee on Saturday. On Friday, after school, we loaded in the car and headed to our first destination, The Viking restaurant in Sprague, Washington. We've often stopped here for a quick bathroom, milkshake, or soda break but the timing has never worked out to eat an actual meal. But this weekend, the greasy spoon gods smiled upon us and we were in Sprague at dinner time! It was worth the wait. Yum.
The wedding wasn't until 6 so on Saturday morning, after I took a quick trip to Target (alone!), we went to Leavenworth. We took a short hike that took us up, up, up. The kids were troopers, as always, and ran at least half-way up and all the way down.
After the hike we went to town to eat a German restaurant I'd eaten at during a girl's weekend in the spring. On the walk there, Paige was doing some extreme walking on a parking curb. When she came to the end she thought there was one more step than there actually was. CRASH! It sounded like a 50 pound sack of flour hitting the ground. She got up with a bloody hip and complaining of a sore arm. We knew it was bad when she wasn't drinking the soda she had at lunch.
After a quick exam from Papa, who confirmed my broken arm suspicion, Paige and I headed to the urgent care unit at Wenatchee Valley Hospital.
A few quick x-rays later...broken radius. Paige and I missed the wedding but were able to enjoy the reception with everyone.
Paige the next morning in her cast, sling, and red lipstick.
Luckily the break isn't too bad so she's in a splint that can be removed for five weeks.
Liam joined Cubbies (AWANAS for preschoolers), learned his Bible verse, and got his vest. He would not take it off last night. Pretty proud!
Aunt Katie made these PJ's for the girls a few years ago and now they fit Liam.
